Showtime your review of The L.A. Cookbook: Recipes from the Best Restaurants, Bakeries, and Bars in Los Angeles

Sometimes I think I could write a novel entirely set within the cool kid LA restaurant scene. There are but so many great restaurants hither with such expert food. This cookbook has some of the very all-time dishes in boondocks broken downwards for you lot to brand at home, including i of my favorite favorite favorite LA restaurants, Jon & Vinny'south.

I'chiliad sure more than prolific cooks will charge per unit this volume more highly. There are very few recipes that are aimed at novice cooks, and while the author does a good job breaking things down, this is a pretty advanced collection of recipes. The layout is great, with witty chapter titles, and the photography is stunning (though there were several times when a complex recipe was accompanied by a photograph of the eating place and not the bodily dish, which would exist infinitely more helpful).

One of the best cookbooks in my collection! Fantastic, exciting recipes, not to mention beautifully printed and bound, with stunning photos and artwork. I absolutely love LA as a food city and I have fond memories of dining at some of the establishments included in this book. Browsing and cooking my way through this book, I am instantly transported back to some of my happiest memories. I as well love learning from the splendid commentary higher up each recipe.

One of the best cookbooks in my collection! Fantastic, heady recipes, not to mention beautifully printed and bound, with stunning photos and artwork. I absolutely love LA as a food city and I have addicted memories of dining at some of the establishments included in this volume. Browsing and cooking my style through this book, I am instantly transported back to some of my happiest memories. I also honey learning from the excellent commentary in a higher place each recipe.

Many of the recipes are indeed on the complex side, but that is to exist expected if you are buying a book which showcases the piece of work of innovative restaurant chefs. There are some easier recipes hiding in there, for instance the golden beet and burrata salad, cookies, flourless chocolate cake, some of the drinks.

I constitute that there were plenty vegetarian/vegan recipes (or recipes which can easily be vegetarian-ised) in this book for me to justify the purchase equally a vegetarian. This is LA, later on all!

Nutrient porn at its finest! Although it would take a more accomplished chef than myself to replicate the recipes in this book, the food pictures, dishes and restaurants described are very, very enticing! This title demonstrates that California cuisine is truly "originated in restaurants" and will likely serve the local Angeleno or visiting tourist as a restaurant guide meliorate than the "at home" cook. Food porn at its finest! Although it would take a more achieved chef than myself to replicate the recipes in this book, the food pictures, dishes and restaurants described are very, very enticing! This title demonstrates that California cuisine is truly "originated in restaurants" and will likely serve the local Angeleno or visiting tourist as a restaurant guide better than the "at dwelling" cook. ...more

Fifty.A. is a culinary wonderland. This book curates 100 amazing recipes from 100 amazing restaurants. A snapshot of the food scene in 2018. Hip descriptions and clever graphics and photos. I would consume nigh any 1 of those dishes, and desire to make near of them. If I had whatever room to purchase books vs. checking them out at the library, this would exist one cookbook I wold love to have at habitation.

This is an interesting collection of recipes. It really feels like a little bit of everything and shows the diversity of LA well. The photos and design of the cookbook are likewise gorgeous making it a joy to flip through. Overall this is a smashing book.
